About Christopher Grodski
Chris is a dedicated practitioner of his heart, following life’s flow of his auspicious and altruistic passions, which have lead him along the journey of studying, practicing, and finally living through the ancient wisdoms of acupuncture, herbal medicine, tai chi-chuan, reiki, sat nam rasayan (yogic healing), yoga, meditation, music, foreign language, cold therapy, biological studies, distance running, mountain climbing, all just for a start. Chris shares his love for life and deep-seated devotion to our highest self, reflected in both his acupuncture and herbal practice, as well as the yogic experience. In Chris’ understanding, in addition to the benefit that comes with working in a relationship with a therapeutic practitioner as in acupuncture, it is completely essential that we each have some consistent personal practice, as in yoga, meditation, qi gong and tai chi, ideally on a daily basis to keep our physical, mental and spiritual bodies in shape, elevated and continuously expansive.
Christopher began his studies of the human body as a biology major at Norwich university, Military College of Vermont, where he also participated in a significant amount of large mountain mountaineering and cold weather rescue work, having him fall in love with mountains and nature. Following, after having close, personal and familial exposure to Chinese medicine, he took up its studies at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago.
For the next 5 years Christopher studied traditional Chinese medicine and graduated with experience treating and affecting upon many individuals.
After graduation Christopher became licensed in several states and nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, in which he then began a private acupuncture medical practice in New York in 2010. During time spent in private practice in NY, he also apprenticed with Mikal Gohring, L.AC, a practitioner of 30 years and student of Jeffrey Yuen, to whom he owes his spiritual awakening in the realm of acupuncture.
In addition, Christopher has been blessed to have undergone the rigorous kundalini yoga teacher training in DC and instructor level tai chi chuan in Chicago.
Currently, Christopher practices acupuncture medicine in New York and keeps close ties with his clients in other states. He continues to help people through his acupuncture and herbal medicine practice, as well as, public and private teachings. He uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion, massage, reiki and yogic and meditation techniques to treat people for a wide variety of ailments as well as general health, well-being and balancing.
Christopher takes on this role of a practitioner not only as a career but also as a life style, diligently practicing tai chi-chuan, chi gong, yoga, and meditation daily as to remain balanced and healthy in order to be an effective practitioner. Chris is a diverse individual having exhaustive experience in personal health, fitness, scientific biology, as well as spiritual and emotional and energetic realms of being.
Christopher has always been a lifelong learner. In addition to the above, he has personally studied the Italian language for ten years now, and is currently in the middle an eight year program for classical music.
